3 Savoury Pie Recipes

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]When I first realised I was gluten intolerant, pies quickly went off the menu, but I missed them a lot.  A bit like pasta, gluten-free pastry has come on leaps and bounds in the past 5-10 years.  Therefore pies are no longer relegated to special occasions only.   Below are 3 of our most favourite savoury pie recipes which we as a family love.  Simple and easy to make, and perfect for cooking with kids.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image media=”59025″ media_width_percent=”100″ media_ratio=”two-three”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Jamie Oliver’s Chicken Pot Pie

We love Jamie Oliver’s ‘5 Ingredients – Quick and Easy Food’ Cookbook.  And this one-pot chicken pie recipe is a perfect weeknight supper recipe, for all the family.

  • 600 g free-range chicken thighs, skin off, bone out.
  • 350 g mixed mushrooms
  • 1 bunch of fresh thyme (30g)
  • 375g block of all-butter (gluten-free if needed) puff pastry, cold.

Cheesy Leek and Potato Pie

  • small knob butter
  • pinch dried rosemary or thyme
  • 450g potato (1 very large baking potato is perfect), chopped into thick slices
  • 140g melting cheese, such as cheddar, cut into small chunks
  • 500g pack shortcrust pastry (gluten-free if needed)
