It’s not often I get to eat out anymore, so tota It’s not often I get to eat out anymore, so totally relish the opportunity when it arises! I love it even more when you forget just how good somewhere is to eat and rediscover 🙏🏻 @bluebarbakanyork you did not disappoint! The food and the service was absolutely amazing 🤩

▪️Did you know they serve breakfast?! The OH says it’s the best in York 👌🏻

▪️Did you know that KIDS (under 12) EAT breakfast FREE!

▪️Did you know that you can just pop in for coffee and cake?!

▪️Did you know that the cakes are all made fresh in the premises?! I can confirm the Pistachio cake was to die for and as light as a feather 🥰

Honestly if you are looking for somewhere to eat in York then I would highly recommend for breakfast, for coffee and cake and for A-MA-ZING polish cuisine 💯💯💯

We visited the new house this weekend, on what cou We visited the new house this weekend, on what couldn’t have been a more beautiful day! There’s a lot of work to do, not only on/in the house, but also in the woodland and garden.

The woodland is shoulder high in nettles at some points, but the stream is so beautiful and I can’t wait to see areas of wildflowers planted once it’s cleared 🥰

The garden needs more than a strummer and a lawnmower like we’d hope, but we did discover a pond 🥰

To bring some animals back to the farm will be such a joy 🤩

The house isn’t a stunner right now, but with some love, care and time I know it’ll become the beautiful family home it used to be!

Excited for our new adventure…

Finally! Approx. 4 years after I first printed the Finally! Approx. 4 years after I first printed the forms to fill in, I have finally completed Sam’s DLA application 🫣 I don’t want to think about how much money Sam may well have qualified for and that possibly the debt I now find myself in may not have been necessary! #ADHDTax

My advice…

1. Call the DWP and ask them to send you the forms as they will register the date you requested and will back date if you fill in within 6 weeks of them receiving.
2. Download the form from the DWP website and start filling out immediately. Filling out digitally and saving as you go, means you can easily save the form and have to review when you need to re-apply.
3. Fill out the form within the 6 weeks! Ask a friend to ‘buddy’ you and help you complete it in the six weeks if needs be!
4. Download the @cerebracharity DLA guide - a step by step guide to completing the form.
5. Keep a printed copy (if you haven’t got a digital copy) of the DLA form for yourself, incase it gets lost in the post.
6. Send via registered delivery so you can track. It’s a lot of work to get lost in the post!

How did you find the first time you filled out your DLA form? Or are you just about to apply?

📝 EHCP LEGAL TIMEFRAMES – and why they’re o 📝 EHCP LEGAL TIMEFRAMES – and why they’re often ignored ⏳

If you’re in the EHCP process, you might have heard that it should take 20 weeks from start to finish (from the request to final plan). That’s the legal deadline.

But here’s the thing 👉 many Local Authorities (LAs) miss it. A lot.
Why?

💬 Here’s why they often don’t stick to the rules:
➡️ Understaffed teams
➡️ Rising demand for SEND support
➡️ Poor communication & processes
➡️ Lack of accountability

But guess what? The law doesn’t change just because the LA is overwhelmed.
If your timeline’s slipping, you can challenge it. Knowing your rights is powerful 💪

⚖️ Quick Breakdown of EHCP Timeframes:
🔹 6 weeks – LA must decide whether to assess
🔹 16 weeks – LA must decide whether to issue a plan
🔹 20 weeks – Final EHCP must be issued (from original request)

⏰ Delayed? Keep everything in writing. Ask for updates. And don’t be afraid to escalate.

💛 You’re not alone — and knowledge is your armour.
